assemblages

I have created assemblages for as long as I can remember, even while I work on other forms of artwork from etchings to virtual reality. They are the artwork that keeps me sane and fuels my creative urge to make things physically.

The two images here are from a recent series I did for an installation called "River Visions" where invited artists were able to express their visions of the Los Angeles River (a concrete-bound channel for most of its length). I created 12 river spirits out of driftwood and detritus - naiads and dryads to represent and protect the river.
