I am a research assistant professor in computer science at USC Institute for Creative Technologies and USC Viterbi School of Engineering. At ICT, I lead the effort on non-verbal behavior understanding and multimodal machine learning. I am interested in building machine learning models that can automatically recognize human states such as emotions and intent. My current research focuses on applications of non-verbal behavior sensing in dyadic interactions to support mental health applications and human-machine interaction. Together with my team, we work on emotion recogniton, multimodal sentiment analysis and automatic behavior generation for virtual agents. I am the president elect for the Asscoiation for Advamcemet of Affective Computing and a member of ACM and a senior member of the IEEE.
